I also have something special planned. When I originally sent this story to Total-E-Bound, it was for a menage anthology that was to be released late last year. The word count for that anthology was for 15,000 - 20,000 words. My story came in at a little over 18. The editor didn't think it was a fit for that antho, so she passed it to another, and it was accepted. Problem? The word count for that antho was 10 - 15,000. Sigh. My wonderful editor worked with me on the story, and we ended up cutting a fairly raunchy BDSM scene that involved a secondary character. As she put it, she loved "the naughty bits", but we had to cut somewhere, and the character wasn't needed to advance the story (there was already another sexual encounter with the two men that didn't include the main character).
So I took a small portion of the "naughty bits", and added them to that other sexual encounter, and that alone took care of almost all of the cuts I needed to make - it was pretty simple after that. I really worked hard on that scene though, and didn't want to see it just completely fade into obscurity. So as a special treat, during release week next week, I will be including that scene on my blog. It's around 3,000 words, so it's almost a story in it's own right. I'll likely spread it out over a few days. Once you read the final cut of "The Perfect Third", you'll see exactly where it got changed. Think of it as an "extra feature" as you would on a DVD.
