I hope to do more of these, but I just found out that Ellora's Cave has that moniker (quickie) registered, so sigh, I will go back to using "Midnight Snack" for future short stories.
Speaking of Ellora's Cave, it would be such an honor to ever be published by them, and Passionate Reads Blog ( http://passionatereads.com/ ) recently hosted a pitch contest where an Ellora's Cave editor read through pitches. I did not place at all, and although I'm disappointed, it was very exciting and there were a lot of great pitches and ideas out there. I think I goofed in my entry because I kept my pitch to a strict (oooh, you know how I like it strict!) 250 words, which was in the guidelines of the contest. As such, I think my pitch lacked a little shine, as the others were obviously waaaay longer than 250 words. You see - I was just trying to be a good girl and obey!
Oh well, the contest offered me the opportunity to come up with a really great idea for a paranormal erotic story about a djinn (genie), and Nosferatu is lovin' it - so I think I'm on the right track with this one.
In the meantime, if you want a quickie (ooops - I mean midnight snack), go grab a copy of Room For Two and follow Jilly's adventures as she meets with her Master to celebrate one year together, and gets the surprise of her life! Yee- ha!
